Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of CompassStu (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CompassStu. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know promptly at support@compassstu.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not:

• break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload harmful or abusive content;
• attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data;
• attempt to manipulate AI scoring, certificates, or other users' results, or misrepresent your achievements;
• scrape, resell, or redistribute course content without our permission.

4. Learning content and certificates

Certificates and scores issued by CompassStu reflect work completed on our platform. They are a record of demonstrated effort and AI-evaluated work — they are not formal academic qualifications or accreditations, and we make no guarantee about employment, interviews, or any specific career outcome.

5. AI-generated content

Parts of the Service use AI to generate feedback, scores, and tutoring. AI output can be imperfect or occasionally incorrect, and is provided to support your learning — not as professional, legal, financial, or career advice. Use your own judgement.

6. Plans and payment

CompassStu currently offers a free plan, with CompassStu Pro free for an introductory month. A paid Pro subscription may be introduced after that; when it is, the applicable pricing and payment terms will be presented to you before you are charged. We will not charge you without your clear agreement.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its content, design, and software, is owned by CompassStu or its licensors and is protected by law. You may use it for your own personal learning. Work you submit remains yours; you grant us the limited permission needed to process it (including via our AI providers) to operate the Service.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; we will post the updated version here and, for material changes, notify you where appropriate.

9. The service is provided "as is"

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that results or outcomes will be achieved.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CompassStu will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by emailing support@compassstu.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of Singapore, unless local law requires otherwise.
